Essex police has released footage of a shocking hit and run incident which occurred on a zebra crossing.
A 22-year-old male can be seen riding his micro scooter down the pavement before he stops at the crossing. He then begins to cross, not realising that a green Ford Focus is not stopping.
The Focus then hits the pedestrian, knocking him into the air. Rather than stopping to assist the man, the Ford's driver immediately reverses.
Shocked bystanders then rush to help the pedestrian lying in the road, who luckily only sustained minor injuries.
The incident happened on Saturday on Old Road, Clacton-on-Sea at around 1.15pm. The untraced car then fled towards St Andrews Road.
Police are now appealing for witnesses and anyone who helped the victim to contact Pc Jon Haslip at Stanway RPU 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
