Watch the terrifying moment an arsonist torches cars on driveway

A home's CCTV cameras have captured the horrific moment three cars were torched in a heinous arson attack.

A man wearing a grey tracksuit with the hood up can be seen entering the driveway of a house in the Overdale area of Telford, Shropshire.

He walks up to a black Volkswagen Golf and pours petrol over it. As he ignites the car it quickly spreads to the other two cars parked on the drive as well.

Fire-fighters can be seen attending the scene just 13 minutes later. Heather Davies, 53, was awoken by one of the cars' alarms sounding at around 4:10am on August 16.

She told the Shropshire Star: "I was in bed. I came downstairs and saw the flames. The front of the car was on fire.

"I called firefighters and they were here in 13 minutes. By that time it was engulfed. Flames were going everywhere and it caught onto the other two cars.

"My concern was that they were going to blow up. It was scary. I feel pretty sick. It's gutting. It's not only the inconvenience but the insecurity you feel in your own home."

Derek Taylor from the arson prevention team at Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service said that the team has responded to seven similar incidents of deliberate arson in the area in the last month.
