The least safe places to park in London have been revealed, with some of London's wealthiest areas appearing on the list, including streets in Fitzrovia and Mayfair.

The stats have been gathered by Co-op Insurance, which has released an interactive map showing the number of vehicle-related crimes recorded in the past six months on any street in the UK. Areas that have high levels of car-related crime glow red on the map.

As well as streets appearing in the top 10, some designated car parks also feature, including the NCP car park in Carrington Street, Mayfair.

Ranked the least safe place in London to park your car is Meridian Square, next to Stratford station in east London, where 46 car crimes have been reported in the past six months.

Welbeck Street in Marylebone was ranked second with 28 vehicle crimes reported in the past six months. In third was Greenwell Street in Fitzrovia with 26.

Vehicle-related theft is one of the most reported crimes, with 800,000 break-ins reported across the UK in the past year.

James Hillon from Co-op insurance said: "Year on year we see a 20% increase in car thefts across the UK. Our tool will allow drivers to make safer choices about parking and in turn, help to keep communities safe."
