Footage has emerged of a police car spinning down a busy street in Kent, as it rushes to an incident.
Officers were dealing with an early-morning disturbance when a Vauxhall Astra Sports Tourer police car appeared, speeding down the street. It is then seen to slide and spin 180 degrees, crashing into railings.
Drunken revellers can be heard shouting and swearing at the police driver after he and his colleague get out of the car and help the other officers, regardless of what has just happened.
The video was posted on Facebook by Warren Wallace, and received 5.5 million views in just 19 hours - as well as a backlash from many who believed the driver endangered the lives of others.
A spokesman for Kent Police said: "Kent Police was called at 3.03am on Sunday 30 July to Canterbury Street in Gillingham following the reports of a disturbance. Patrols attended and officers called for assistance.
"A police patrol vehicle attending the urgent call skidded on the wet road whilst it was coming to a halt and it was involved with a minor collision with some railings. Nobody was injured as a result of the collision.
"Two men were arrested following the disturbance and have since been released without charge.
"As with any collision involving a police vehicle, an investigation will be carried out to establish the circumstances."
