Footage has captured the moment a train narrowly missed a tractor crossing a rural level crossing.
The video, captured by the trains on-board camera, was released by British Transport Police (BTP) in Leicestershire yesterday.
As the train speeds down the crossing, the driver of a Fendt tractor with a baler on the back, decides to take their chances by crossing the tracks. The train misses the back of the tractor by inches before coming to a stop later down the line.
With the harvest season in full swing, police are increasingly wanting to make farmers aware of the dangers of crossing rural railway crosses – most of which don't have barriers. In the tweet, BTP warned that this is "why rural crossings must be used with care".
"Follow the rules; don't risk it", it added.
