Grand Tour star Richard Hammond has made a video addressing his fans after a horrifying crash over the weekend left him in hospital.
Hammond was filming alongside fellow presenters Jeremy Clarkson and James May when the incident occurred.
Richard can be seen in previous footage driving a Rimac Concept One electric supercar at a hill climb in St Gallen, northern Switzerland, when he loses control of the car – flipping it over.
It tumbled down a hill before bursting into flames - Jeremy Clarkson described it on Twitter, writing: "It was the biggest crash I've ever seen and the most frightening but incredibly, and thankfully, Richard seems to be mostly OK."
In the video Hammond thanks all the doctors and staff that helped him to the St Gallen hospital, where he remains for an operation on his knee – something he refers to as his 'Swiss Army knee'.
Hammond also apologises to his wife Mindy and their two daughters Willow and Izzy.
