A kitten has had a lucky escape after being stuck inside the wheel arch of a car as it travelled along a road.
Luckily, the woman driving the Mazda CX-7 SUV heard meowing. At first she thought it was her imagination and carried on driving.
However, after a while she became concerned and decided to pull into a nearby fire station to ask for help.
The fire crews had to remove a front wheel and wheel arch trim attached to the front bumper, before retrieving a tiny black kitten, which had become stuck inside the car.
The incident happened on a road in Austin, Texas and is a kindly reminder that drivers should always be aware of animals when driving.
The Austin fire department said: "Even though temperatures are on the rise, meows heard coming from beneath and inside of cars should be investigated."
