Lotus has lifted the lid on its new Elise Cup 250.
With a supercharged 1.8-litre engine that develops 246bhp, the Elise Cup 250 can go from standstill to 60mph in just 3.9 seconds and on to a top speed of 154mph.
All this is mated to a six-speed manual gearbox, with power being sent to the rear wheels.
This is thanks to its lightweight nature. Having been made from weight saving materials, this new performance Elise weighs 860kg – just a little more than an average dairy cow.
The weight saving is due to the composition of materials used to create the Elise Cup 250 – a mix of carbon-fibre, titanium and aluminium combine not only to make the car lighter, but also give the car a stronger body shell.
On the outside it has real head-turning looks. The front end is sharply styled, with LED headlamps and an aggressive appearance.
At the rear is a large spoiler and a large single exhaust that sits in the middle of the car.
Inside the lightweight focus continues, with a basic but functional interior that features Alcantara covered racing style seats with contrast red and yellow stitching, and exposed aluminium and carbon-fibre.
There are several optional extras available including leather trim at £1,000, a tartan trim pack that gives you two different types of tartan, and contrast stitching in the seats – also for £1,000.
The Lotus Elise Cup 250 costs from £47,400 and is available to order now.
