It's not often you get the chance to pilot a car like an Aston Martin DBR9 GT1 around a racetrack such as Rockingham, but thanks to this helmetcam footage, we can get a taste for what it's actually like.
Racing driver Sam Hancock has uploaded a video of his hot lap in the DBR9 to YouTube, with Aston Martin factory racing driver Darren Turner behind the wheel.
Recorded at the Global Endurance Legends track day, the high-adrenaline footage is awe inspiring.
The camera position is perfect and gives viewers an excellent view, not just of Turner in action, but of the stripped-out cockpit and wide vision through the windscreen.
The 600bhp 6.0-litre V12 howls away as the lightweight racer is hammered around Rockingham.
The car was brought out of hibernation by current owner, Gregor Fisken, who bought the car at auction earlier this year.
