Toyota announce limited-run GT86 Orange Edition

Toyota has pulled the wraps off a new limited edition version of its popular GT86 sports car – the Orange Edition.

The new model is the first car to be released as part of the Japanese manufacturer's special Club Series, and features a range of unique aesthetic tweaks both inside and out.

Unsurprisingly, the most noticeable upgrade is the bold Solar Orange paintwork, which is applied to the body of the GT86 in three separate coats.

In addition to the eye-catching paint job, the Orange Edition also gains contrasting metallic black finishing on the rear spoiler tips, wing mirror housings and fog light surrounds. Snazzy 17-inch Anthracite alloy wheels have also been fitted.

As far as changes to the cabin are concerned, Toyota has introduced heated seats that are upholstered in black leather and Alcantara, as well as vibrant orange stitching throughout the interior.

Standard equipment has also been improved, with the GT86 benefitting from Toyota's Touch 2 infotainment system that incorporates satellite navigation, DAB radio and Bluetooth connectivity. Smart aluminium sports pedals are also included.

Rather unfortunately, the GT86 Orange Edition doesn't benefit from any additional performance. The 2.0-litre, four-cylinder boxer engine from the regular car still develops 197bhp, which will get the sports car from 0-60mph in 7.4 seconds and on to a top speed of 140mph.

The new Toyota GT86 Orange Edition is on sale now, with the six-speed manual version setting customers back £28,800. A six-speed automatic version is also available, costing £30,270.
