This is the incredible moment a brazen thief tries to steal a high-end racing bicycle from the back of a car while it stops at a red light.
Footage from a rear-mounted dashcam, which was recorded on London's Tower Bridge Road on May 14, shows the man approach the back of the car on a bicycle as the car is stopped at a red light.
Instantly, he starts unfastening the holds that are keeping the bike in place on the rack. However, the car soon sets off again – and the would-be thief pedals after it.
When the car stops again, the crook gets to work once more, and actually ditches his bike in an attempt to free the bike from the car – running after it as he unscrews another hold.
However, his attempts were unsuccessful, as the car managed drive away on to a dual carriageway.
Chloe, the 24-year-old who was driving the car, told the Daily Mail: "When I noticed a guy cycling along behind me, I thought he he was a bit close to the back of the car. But I just thought he was being silly – because if I had to brake, then he was going to hit me.
"The next thing I knew, we were at the last set of lights before you accelerate onto the dual carriageway, and I heard a beep from the car behind us.
"From what I could see, the bike was still attached – so I decided to carry on because I knew he wouldn't be able to keep up with the car."
Eventually, Chloe pulled over to refasten the bike – which belongs to her partner Musa – as she noticed it was slipping.
The couple have handed the footage in to police in the hope the man can be identified.
