BMW reveals new 1 Series and 2 Series models
It might be fairly difficult to tell, but the cars you see before you are in fact the latest versions of the BMW 1 and 2 Series.
Changes to the popular models are incredibly subtle, but help to keep the cars looking fresh. BMW has fitted the 1 Series with new LED headlights and taillights, and has also introduced three new special edition trim levels.
These include Sport Line Shadow, M Sport Shadow and the M140i Edition Shadow. These special editions largely add aesthetic tweaks, such as a black kidney grille, black headlight inserts and darkened taillights.
The new 1 Series will also be available with two new eye-catching colours – Seaside Blue and Sunset Orange – while five new designs of alloy wheel are also available.
As far as the interior is concerned, the latest 1 Series now features a redesigned instrument panel, while a new leather upholstery pattern has also been introduced.
BMW has also taken a similarly conservative approach to the new 2 Series Coupe and Convertible models. These also gain new LED headlights and taillights, as well as a slightly altered front end.
Like the 1 Series, the 2 Series also gains a subtly reworked interior that is intended to increase driver focus. Changes include a new instrument panel, as well as a more spacious and roomier cabin.
The infotainment available on both cars has also been upgraded, with both the 1 Series and 2 Series benefitting from the latest iDrive system. Both cars can also be specified with the high-resolution 8.8-inch touchscreen that features on the larger 5 Series.
The 1 Series will be made available to customers in three- and five-door configurations, while the 2 Series will come as a coupe or a convertible
