Huge explosion after wrong-way driver collides with fuel tanker

A motorist that was driving the wrong way down a motorway in Ohio was tragically killed after they slammed into a fuel tanker.

For reasons unknown, 30-year-old Andrew Brunsman from Centerville was driving the wrong way down the I-75 when he crashed into an oncoming lorry on April 30.

Following the impact, the tanker – which was being driven by Richard Miller, 59 – dragged Brunsman's car down the freeway for some distance before coming to a halt. Miller can be seen fleeing the wrecked vehicles immediately after.

Minutes later, the entangled vehicles caught fire, before the tanker dramatically exploded – creating a massive fireball that very nearly torched cars travelling in the opposite lane.

According to WHIO TV 7, the police report indicates that drugs or alcohol might have been behind Brunsman's actions.
