Teens disable double-decker bus in dangerous prank

Updated:

A pair of brazen teenagers have been captured on dashcam running into a busy road and disabling a double-decker bus as it waits at a junction.

The shocking footage, which was recorded in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire, on April 21, shows the duo sprint out from the side of the road in front of a turning car, lift a hatch at the back of the bus and appear to press an emergency kill-switch.

Once the vehicle had been disabled, the teens took off – leaving the 127 bus stuck in the middle of the road.

Steve Ward recorded the footage, which has subsequently been viewed close to 200,000 times since it was uploaded to the Idiot UK Drivers Exposed Facebook page.

The video attracted outrage from a number of viewers, including other bus drivers – some of which had been victims of the same prank in other parts of the country.

Roy Jennings wrote: "I used to drive for First Bus in Southampton and this was the sort of thing we contended with on school holidays.

"This could easily lead to an accident or passenger injury as the bus jolts and it has been known to throw standing passengers to the floor."
