An idiotic drink-driver was pulled over by police in the US while he was wearing a t-shirt emblazoned with the slogan "Drunk lives matter".

Elwood R Gutshall III, 44, of Newville, Pennsylvania, was arrested by police after his green Ford pick-up was seen committing "multiple traffic violations" on March 19, 2017.

After a number of sobriety tests, Gutshall was found to be drunk behind the wheel and was taken into custody before being transported to the Cumberland County Booking Center for a blood test.

His blood-alcohol content was found to be .217 – close to three times the legal limit.

According to a police report: "It was determined the driver was under the influence of alcohol beyond what he could safely operate a motor vehicle".

Pennsylvania police charged Gutshall with DUI Highest Rate, driving under DUI suspension and traffic violations.
