Floridian man jailed for death of wife in car crash during sex

A man in Florida has been sentenced to five years in prison after a car crash in which his wife was killed while the pair were having sex.

According to The Palm Beach Post, the couple had been on a night out and then got amorous while on the road.

Palm Beach County State Attorney told People that Matthew Notebaert was driving at 55mph in a 30mph zone, had raised blood alcohol levels and had consumed marijuana when his car crashed into a canal in 2014, killing his wife, Amanda.

In February, Notebaert pleaded guilty to vehicular homicide and drunk driving.

The Palm Beach Post reported that Notebaert said: "I miss Amanda more than words can express."

The couple's two children, aged 12 and three, are living in the care of Notebaert's brother.
