Modified Jeep can beat the rush hour

Have you ever sat in a traffic jam and wished you could just drive over the gridlock? Well, an inventor in America has built the perfect car for the job.

From the outside, it looks much like any other Jeep Grand Cherokee, but at the push of a button, the Hum Rider can become a huge monster truck capable of cruising over stopped traffic.

Using hydraulic 'legs', the car can rise up and widen its track in order to pass over other, queuing vehicles.

The car is currently just a marketing stunt, but a promotional video shows it effectively jumping a queue on a busy urban street. Although we aren't convinced of the legality of such a vehicle – or what happens when it comes across a van or truck in the queue – it's certainly something we'll be longing for next time the M25 is clogged.
