Good Samaritans help pensioner stuck on level crossing

A video from New Jersey has recorded the heroic work of two good Samaritans who came to the aid of an elderly woman stuck on a level crossing.

The 89-year-old woman was trying to cross the railway in Saddle Brook, near New York, but the barriers came down as she was in the middle of the tracks.

At that moment, a man ran across to move her, pulling her away from the tracks as another man rushed to her aid.

The train shot through the level crossing just as the two men got the woman to safety.

According to Inside Edition reporter Mara Montalbano, police confirmed that nobody was injured in the incident, although ABC 7 said the woman was taken to hospital as a precaution.

The broadcaster also said police rang the employer of the man who dragged the woman off the train line to tell of his bravery.
