Terrifying video shows biker gang caught pulling wheelies on busy dual carriageway

Updated:

This is the shocking moment a gang of around 100 bikers was caught performing dangerous stunts on a busy dual carriageway.

Footage, which appears to have been filmed by one of the bikers, shows members of the group performing wheelies as they travel along the A452 near Solihull in the West Midlands.

The mob then suddenly slows down, after they notice an unmarked BMW police car parked by the side of the road.

The video shows a crowd of people as well as an orange motorcycle next to the uniformed police officers.

As the bikers take off from the scene, one can be seen performing a donut in the middle of the road while one of the police officers runs towards them.

Officers were called to Collector Road at around 3pm on Sunday following reports that a large group of bikers was causing problems.

A 23-year-old man from Essex was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and causing public nuisance, but was later bailed pending further inquiries.

A police statement also reveals that an officer received minor injuries when she was obstructed from performing her duties.

An investigation is now under way, during which officers will review their own footage and trawl CCTV to identify the offenders.

Sergeant Philip Comerford, from the West Midlands Police Traffic Unit, said: "This seemed to be a planned meet with bikers who had travelled from across the country to Birmingham, intent on causing problems.

"We were able to bring things under control and to disperse the trouble-makers and an investigation has now been launched.

"This lawless behaviour will not be tolerated and we will take action against those who bring chaos to our region's roads."
