Footage showing the horrific moment a train smashed into a car that drove through a level crossing has surfaced online.
The barriers had been lowered to allow a train to cross the road in the Polish town of Czerwionka-Leszczyny, but a black Renault dodged through the gap.
The driver almost made it, but the back half of the car was caught by the train as it passed, sending it spinning into the undergrowth beside the tracks.
As if to prove the folly of the driver's actions, the barriers are raised just moments later.
The video was released by PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe (Polish Railway Lines) with the caption "98% of accidents are caused by driver, we want to draw attention to how important it is to exercise caution and observe traffic regulations."
One Polish newspaper, Wyborcza, reported that the driver was sober at the time, and was taken to hospital in a serious condition.
