This is the moment a driver dangerously swerved around descending level crossing gates so he could cross a railway line before the arrival of an approaching train.
CCTV footage of the incident at Langley Green level crossing near Oldbury in the West Midlands on Friday February 3 has since been shared by Network Rail.
Route level crossing manager for Network Rail, Ben Parish, condemned the driver of the silver Citroen.
"This selfish driver had callous neglect for the safety of themselves and others by ignoring the barriers and signals," he told the BBC.
Despite their best efforts, British Transport Police have been unable to identify the motorist.
Inspector Dave Rams, from British Transport Police, added: "Alongside Network Rail, we work around the year to encourage safer use of level crossings, using high-visibility patrols and mobile camera operations to deter and catch offenders.
"I'd urge people to heed this warning and not risk their lives – or those of others – for the sake of waiting just a few moments for a train to pass."
