Officers rescue car crash victim after chase

News footage captured the moment a dozen police officers worked together to free a driver from an overturned car.

The incident happened in Los Angeles during a police chase. Officers were pursuing a man who they say was wanted in connection with a shooting in the city earlier in the day.

Police had given chase, prompting the driver of the white Mercedes to make a reckless attempt to escape. He caused a number of minor shunts before smashing into the back of a black saloon, causing it to flip. A little further down the road he hit another car before giving himself up to police.

While he was being arrested, about a dozen officers worked together to hold the rolled car steady as their colleagues worked to free the driver. She appeared to have escaped serious injury.
