The heroic moment rescue teams saved an elderly man trapped by floodwater has been caught on film.
Emergency service teams rushed to Mill Creek in Miramonte, California, on February 7 after reports that a vehicle had become stranded in deep water.
They arrived to find a green pickup truck stranded in the middle of Mill Creek with the 76-year-old driver stuck inside. An officer from the Fresno County Sheriff's Office waded out to the vehicle while tied to the shore.
He smashed the window and helped the driver out into the fast-flowing water. The elderly man was then pulled to shore where rescuers were waiting to carry him to safety.
He told police he'd been trying to drive on to his property, but the overflowing river had pulled his vehicle about 50 metres downstream.
