A puppy has been rescued by emergency services after it got its head trapped in a wheel.
Firefighters in Butte, Montana, were called to assist a veterinary hospital after staff were unable to free an eight-month-old coonhound that had become trapped.
The pup's owners had left it alone in the garden for a few hours. When they returned they found him with his head stuck in the centre of the wheel and called for help.
After arriving at the scene, the firefighters used a lot of patience, ear tucking and coconut oil to free the animal without resorting to using power tools.
The puppy, named Blaze, was said to have remained calm throughout the rescue effort.
Fortunately, aside from swelling, the puppy escaped without serious injury.
