Police have released footage of a dangerous driver trying to evade capture before crashing spectacularly on a country lane.
The video was recorded by a Warwickshire Police officer who was attempting to stop a Ford Fiesta in Rugby. The 20-year-old driver immediately drove through a red light to try to get away from the police car.
During the 15-minute pursuit, he raced through built-up areas while driving recklessly. The chase ended on a country lane when the man lost control of his car and crashed into a hedge, flipping the Ford on to its roof.
Jareth York of Stowe Drive, Rugby, was sentenced to eight months in prison after pleading guilty at Warwick Crown Court to driving a motor vehicle dangerously, using a motor vehicle on a road or public place without third party insurance and driving a motor vehicle otherwise than in accordance with a licence.
