Terrifying van pursuit captured on police dashcam

Shocking footage captured on police dashcam shows four robbers in a white van evading officers during a terrifying pursuit.

The chase took place following a robbery at Moodys Jewellers in Nantwich in July. Offenders wearing balaclavas smashed their way through a window and stole a number of watches before making their escape.

Police gave chase to a white van later that day in connection with the robbery. Despite stopping the pursuit in the interest of public safety, officers later arrested four men.

Lewis Chalmers, 27, from Oswald Road in Chorlton-cum-Hardy, Patrick David Massey, 26, of Pegwell Drive, Salford, Darren James McAndrew, 32, from Edlington Walk, Newton Heath, and Joseph Anthony Schofield, 20, of Dob Brook Close in Manchester were sentenced on Monday at Warrington Crown Court after pleading guilty to robbery.

Chalmers, Massey and McAndrew also admitted to aggravated vehicle taking, while Schofield pleaded guilty to dangerous driving. In addition, Massey, Chalmers and Schofield pleaded guilty to two counts of affray.

Chalmers and Massey were each jailed for nine years, McAndrew received eight years and Schofield was sentenced to four years in prison.
