The driver of a camper van caught on camera crashing on the motorway has been jailed.
The dramatic footage, which was captured by another motorist's dashcam while travelling on the M6 near Southwaite in Cumbria, shows the moment the camper van overturned.
It had been going about 80mph when the driver lost control, swerving back and forth before eventually hitting the central barrier and flipping.
David Whitehead of Parkinson Street, Burnley, was behind the wheel at the time. He was taken to hospital where he refused to give police a blood sample.
Carlisle Crown Court heard that Whitehead's ability to drive may have been affected by medication he was taking, and that he had two other convictions for failing to provide a specimen.
Whitehead admitted charges of dangerous driving and failing to provide a specimen of blood to police. He was jailed for 12 months and given a three-year driving ban.
