A British hypercar, a Spanish hot hatch and a Japanese sports bike might not make for the most logical track battle, but thanks to these drivers – and rider – we have some fascinating footage to pore over.
The video is recorded from a Seat Leon Cupra as it chases a McLaren P1 around the Nurburgring Nordschleife. The sporty hatchback has about 290bhp – less than a third of the hypercar's 904bhp – but thanks to an excellent driver who knows the track and a clever differential helping put power through the front wheels, it keeps the flame-spitting McLaren in its sights.
After realising the Seat's pilot knows the track better, the P1 pulls aside to give the driver some free air. However, less than a minute later, a committed rider on a Yamaha R6 blasts past.
The Seat is once again following an awesome sight as the biker ducks and dives across the famous Green Hell.
