This is how you actually pronounce these car manufacturer names

The global nature of the car industry means that there are cars on our roads built by manufacturers from far-flung corners of the planet.

In many cases, the letters might look familiar, but the pronunciation certainly isn't. The way words and letters are spoken in the UK isn't necessarily the same around the rest of the world, so it's no surprise to learn that you've probably been pronouncing some car makers' names incorrectly.

Online car sales site Carwow decided to ask British members of the public to pronounce a number of foreign manufacturer names, then found native speakers to pronounce them as they should be said.

Even simple ones such as BMW aren't quite as easy as they appear, since Germans pronounce 'W' as 'Vee'. Then there's Hyundai. Brits put the emphasis on the 'Hy-', whereas South Koreans merge the first half of the word together completely.

How many of these have you been mispronouncing?
