A fearless Dutch motorcyclist has set a new record for the world's fastest wheelie after completing a 213mph, kilometre-long run on his back wheel at Yorkshire's Elvington Airfield.
While the majority of us haven't even managed 200mph on four wheels, Egbert van Popta reached the blistering speed during last weekend's Motorcycle Wheelie World Championship.
Aboard a turbocharged Suzuki Hayabusa, he surpassed the previous record of 209.8mph, set by Liverpool's Gary Rothwell last year. Rothwell was also at the event, and set the second-fastest speed of 206mph.
Footage of van Popta's record-breaking run was recorded on a GoPro mounted at the rear of his bike. As he accelerates, his front wheel can be seen lifting a number of inches off the ground, where it remains as he achieves the incredible speed.
Forty competitors, from countries including the UK, France, Holland, Ireland and the USA, attended the event, which is now in its 11th year.
