Driver runs red light and collides with bus full of people

This is the shocking moment a driver blasts through a red light in Oklahoma City and hits a bus.

CCTV footage obtained from the bus shows the vehicle's driver spotting the saloon car heading his way too late to avoid a crash.

The car hits the driver's side of the bus, which is shunted on to the pavement. It eventually rolls to a stop a few feet from a lamp post.

The driver of the car, which was heavily damaged in the impact, can be seen stumbling from his vehicle before fleeing the scene.

First responders treated six people who were travelling on the bus for minor injuries with five of those being transported to hospital.

The driver of the blue car was named by police as 43-year-old Christopher Michael Gaston. He was later arrested and charged with driving while privilege suspended, driving under the influence, leaving the scene of an accident and unauthorised use of a vehicle.
