A fly-tipper has been caught brazenly dumping his load of boxes into a parking bay in Tottenham, north London.

Captured on CCTV, the video shows the driver of a white flatbed reverse into the bay in a cul-de-sac and dumps hundreds of boxes down on to the ground.

The van driver then leaves the scene, trailing rubbish behind him as he makes a quick getaway.

However, despite his brazen actions, Gabriel Prempeh was fined just £320 at Tottenham Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.

The footage was captured in December, although Prempeh was only tracked down recently after parking illegally on a pavement and being recognised by officers.

Haringey council leader Claire Kober told the Daily Mail: "The £320 fine isn't much more than a slap on the wrist, its time the courts gave higher fines and tougher sentences to people who dump rubbish on our streets.

"Fly-tipping is a blight on our communities and a health hazard and costs councils £50 million a year to clean up."
