A drag racer had a close escape after his dragster exploded into flames and crashed at high speed during an event in Houston.
Terry McMillen, who was behind the wheel of 'Xtermigator' walked away from the incident without a scratch, after what his team called "the biggest explosion in NHRA Top Fuel drag racing in over a decade".
It happened just four seconds into the race, with the large explosion sending the car towards a concrete barrier.
The car scrapes along the wall for some time, before coming to a halt.
Safety crew were on hand in seconds to put out the blaze, though McMillen was able to get out of the wreck without any need for assistance.
McMillen later told news teams: "I can tell you this, except for the blower getting away from the car, everything worked exactly as it should have."
Incredibly, McMillen's support crew has already fixed the car, straightening out its chassis in time for an upcoming race.
