Car crashes through pizza restaurant in Florida

Two diners were lucky to escape with their lives after a car crashed through the front of a pizza restaurant they were eating in.

The footage, which was captured on the restaurant's CCTV, sees the car hit the pizza shop's glass window, before knocking two people sat on stools to the ground.

The accident, which happened in Oakland Park, Florida, saw the man and woman at the front of the shop taken to hospital with their injuries.

Paul Aarsonson, a passer-by who saw the accident, told WSVN: "I heard an engine just flat out go full speed ahead and watched this car go through the window.

"They never tried to stop, never hit the brake.

"One woman was bleeding from the face. Another gentleman also looked very groggy, and he was also cut."

It is reported that a 70-year-old woman, Dina Nolan, was behind the wheel of the vehicle in question. Although she didn't sustain any injuries as a result of the crash, it is not yet clear if she will face any charges for smashing through the restaurant.
