Data compiled by one of the UK's biggest online car marketplaces – Auto Trader – has found the top ten premium cars that buyers are searching for.
With finance readily available, a feature of today's marketplace is that more people are looking to upgrade to a used premium vehicle than ever before.
So it will come as no surprise that the BMW 3-Series comes out on top, taking the crown as the most viewed premium model. As has long been the case, the 3-Series represents a more premium way of driving – with used residuals staying strong.
Sitting in the middle of the table is the ever-popular Audi A3, which appears to have taken the role of an aspirational car for young drivers.
In 10th place is a Volkswagen – a brand which isn't usually associated with premium cars. The particular model is the Polo, which has come to represent a solid and reliable form of motoring.
The most-viewed car in total between August 2015 and January 2016 on Auto Trader remains the BMW 3-Series, though other cars – such as the Volkswagen Golf and Ford Focus – now enter the list.
However, the fifth most important factor - sitting just behind fourth place reliability - may come as a surprise – and that's the car's brand.
It seems that with competitive finance options, more people than ever are choosing to buy a premium car.
