A driver was caught on camera doing 149mph on the M6 Toll – while being chased by police officers.
Thomas Allsopp's A8 was initially followed by officers after he was found parked across an emergency vehicle slip road to the motorway.
As they approached, Allsopp sped off down the A48, reaching over 70mph while darting in and out of moving traffic.
He continued on to the M6 Toll, smashing through the barrier. He ended up stopping on the hard shoulder, later admitting to police that he only did so because he had run out of fuel.

Allsopp was given an eight-month jail sentence, suspended for 12 months. It was given to him at Birmingham Crown Court on Monday.
PC Jim Barry told the BBC: "At one stage he overtook a recovery truck on a blind bridge entering Minworth village.
"Allsopp showed no remorse and said he had no intention of stopping for officers – only stopping because he ran out of fuel – and agreed he didn't give his three passengers any opportunity to exit."
