A bulletproof Maybach 62S that was formerly owned by actor Charlie Sheen has gone on sale in California.
Sheen is reported to have owned the car for seven years, and decided to have its security upped by having 'Level 5' ballistic protection installed by Armormax.
This greater amount of protection means that the Maybach can withstand shots from high-powered rifles, thanks to its thickened windows and modified body panels, which are filled with ballistic composite.
The car was originally put online with a 'Buy It Now' price of $325,000 (£226,622), but that was dropped – no doubt thanks to the amount of interest that a celebrity-owned vehicle generates.
With only 27,000 miles on the clock, it poses a considerable investment – even without its Sheen connection. When it first went on sale in 2009, the Maybach cost $400,000 (£278,956) and as it is no longer on sale, this car represents an excellent chance to own a Mercedes-built car famed for its luxury.
The car features rear seats with airplane-style features, such as reclining back rests and television screens. The 62S also had heated cupholders fitted, along with a 21-speaker premium speaker system and wireless headphones. It is powered by a 5.5-litre twin-turbo V12 engine, producing 570bhp. Despite its immense weight, the 62S can go from 0-60mph in just 4.5 seconds.
