Following a nasty crash in yesterday's stage, Sebastien Loeb has ruled himself out of the race for victory in the 2016 Dakar Rally.

Having been a leader in the early stages of the event - the driver's first Dakar challenge - Loeb lost a significant amount of ground in the rolling dunes of Stage 8.
