13.5 million Britons unaware that their car tax is due

Updated

A recent poll has found that an incredible 13.5 million Britons do not know when their vehicle exercise is duty (VED) is due.

Around 30 per cent of the 45.5 million people in Britain who have a driving licence forgot to pay their vehicle tax on time. Since tax discs were abolished in October 2014, it was meant to be easier to pay VED through a new digital system. If these figures are anything to go by, it seems that the new system hasn't worked.
