Australian supercars set to feature in Forza racing game

Australian V8 supercars are set to feature in the video game Forza Motorsport 6, which is due for release this September.

The latest instalment of Microsoft's racing series will now include such cars as a 2015 Holden Racing Team VF Commodore and a Pepsi Max Crew PRA Falcon FG X.
In total, there are 10 cars from five manufacturers that will be available for players to use in the new game.

The Forza series has been one of the most successful franchises for the Xbox platform yet and the latest incarnation is set to be just as popular.

Holden and Ford V8 Supercars have been included in the Forza series since 2009, but this is the first time that all the manufacturers based in Australia have been included. Players are also given the option to customise these cars before taking them to the virtual tracks.

V8 Supercars Australia CEO James Warbuton told IGN: "We are very proud that our home-grown Australian V8 Championship including drivers and teams from the 2015 season representing each of the five constructors will be featured for the first time in Forza Motorsport 6 and played by millions of racing fans around the world."

Jeremy Hinton, head of interactive entertainment for Microsoft Australia added: "Xbox has always been the home of racing and this partnership further reinforces out commitment to the sport in Australia."

He went on to add: "We couldn't be more excited about having legends such as Mark Skaife in the game and Marcos Amrbose in the driver's seat of out car, leaving no doubt that Xbox is the only place for racing in 2015."
