Toyota Verso MPV gains DVD players for rear passengers

Toyota Verso Trend Plus

The family-friendly Toyota Verso people carrier looks set to become more popular with kids and parents alike, following the company's announcement that a new range-topping trim level – Trend Plus – includes twin rear DVD players.

Buyers will also have the option to add on twin iPad docks to the DVD system, which can also double as a gaming console, with a few choice accessories, to make sure that even children with the shortest of attention spans are kept occupied on longer journeys. Best of all, two wireless headsets are provided, so that parents in the front seats don't have to be deafened with film soundtracks or irritating computer game music.

Trend Plus trim also boasts leather upholstery and Toyota's Touch 2 with Go multimedia system with integrated sat nav which includes a digital radio, Bluetooth, internet access and a reversing camera.

Alongside the new Trend Plus trim, existing Trend and Excel versions have been updated and now include Toyota's touchscreen media system with built-in sat nav as standard, with buyers also gaining the option to have Toyota's DVD entertainment system installed in several configurations. More affordable Verso Icon models can also be specified with the DVD entertainment system.

Three engine options are available in the updated Verso range; a 1.6-litre petrol, an automatic-only 1.8-litre petrol and a 1.6-litre diesel. The 2015 Verso range is on sale now, with the new Trend Plus available from £24,650. The entry-level five-seat Active model starts at £17,770, whilst the 7-seater models are available from £18,300.
