Video: Engineer creates bonkers jet-powered go kart

Jet kart

He may not be winning any races, but inventor Colin Furze would certainly win the prize for creativity. His "jet-kart" may only reach a top speed of 60mph, but it does so whilst glowing red and spewing out flames. Sounds like a health and safety nightmare...brilliant.

The 10ft long contraption is the latest brainchild of the mad scientist, who already holds a number of Guinness world records for other stunts - including one for the "world's fastest mobility scooter".

Sharing the video online, he described the jet-kart as "A LUMP OF MENTAL", and also hinted that the kart could go faster, but was limited due to the short airstrip on which he tested it.

This isn't the first time he's strapped a jet engine to wheels, though, as he's previously mounted one on a motorbike, a BBQ and even his newborn baby's pram (without the baby on board, that is)

With almost one million subscribers on his YouTube channel and more projects in the pipeline, the 37-year-old doesn't show signs of slowing down any time soon!

Check out his latest creation in the video below.
