April 1 may have been and gone, but Nissan doesn't seem to have noticed, choosing this week to announce the office workstation of the future – inspired by in-car technology from the Qashqai crossover.
Introducing its new concept, Nissan writes: "Ever suffered a drop in productivity at work? Fallen asleep at your desk? Or missed out on the morning coffee run?
"Well that could all be a thing of the past following the creation of an innovative office workstation - inspired by the technologies in the all-new Nissan Qashqai"
The company has managed to add its around view monitor – which gives a bird's eye view of the desk – moving object detection, which warns occupants to approaching colleagues – and driver attention alert, which recognises when occupants are feeling sleepy and provides an alert in response.
Combine this kit together and workers can preempt colleague's requests, be ready when colleagues pass with fresh coffee and be warned if they're getting tired.
