Jeremy Clarkson talks his way out of a parking ticket

Jeremy Clarkson may not have been able to talk himself out of being sacked from the BBC, but the former face of Top Gear has managed to talk himself out of being handed a parking fine, after leaving a lurid green Lamborghini parked on double yellow lines.

The ex-Top Gear presenter had parked up to admire classic Ferrari 275 in London when a parking warden clocked the bright green Lamborghini being parked illegally and went to write out a ticket.

However, recognising the infamous TV presenter, the parking warden was seen chatting and laughing with the star for a few minutes before heading off without leaving a ticket on the high-end hypercar that Clarkson had borrowed.

The former motoring show host had parked up the Lamborghini – which was fitted with Italian number plates – to meet with a pair of people who were showing him around the black Ferrari. Eyewitnesses describe the star as inspecting the car intently for around 15 minutes, as though he may have been considering buying it, reports the Daily Mail.

The 55-year-old presenter has been plastered across the news after being sacked from the BBC last month, following a fracas with one of Top Gear's producers. Last week Richard Hammond joined fellow former presenter James May in confirming that he did not plan to return to the show without Clarkson.

Speaking to reporters at a charity bike rally yesterday Hammond added: "Everybody knows what's happened. That's all been in the news. The future, nobody knows yet, do they?"
