Sebastian Vettel has taken to the wheel of a Ferrari F1 car for the first time at the company's Fiorano test track in Maranello, Italy.
The four-time world champion's move to the Italian team had been on the cards for much of this year's season. He replaces Fernando Alonso, who is widely expected to be offered a drive with rival McLaren next year.
Arriving at a misty Fiorano for his initial acquaintance with the Ferrari F1 machine, it's initially strange to see Vettel – who has for so long been associated with the dominance of Red Bull over the past few years – dressed in the iconic scarlet uniform.
Even stranger still to see him at the wheel of a Ferrari car – and not just any Ferrari, but the 2012 machine which nearly snatched championship victory from the young German at the hands of Fernando Alonso.
With plenty of musical chairs occurring in the F1 line-up for next year, the 2015 season is shaping up to be an exciting one, particularly if Ferrari fulfils its promise of returning to championship winning form. With one of the most successful drivers ever to grace the sport at the helm, it's in with a good chance.
