More often than not, once a classic car reaches a certain vintage, it's locked away in a garage or museum and only allowed out of hibernation if the temperature is exactly 26 degrees, there is zero chance of precipitation and the moon has aligned with the sun.
Thankfully, this is not the case with this beautiful Jaguar C-Type – ex F1 racer Juan Manuel Fangio's very own – which can be seen being pushed to its limits around the Monaco GP circuit by GT4 driver Alex Buncombe. Just as Jaguar intended.
This particular C-Type, is run and prepared by JD Classics, and helped Buncombe to the top of the podium in the Series C race for sports cars built between 1952 and 1955.
Similar to Goodwood Revival or Le Mans Classic, the Monaco Historique brings together gentleman racers and maniacal pro drivers alike for a series of races around an iconic circuit.
This clip shows off the priceless Jag's 3.4-litre straight six redline roar, on the first few laps of the race.
So if you have a spare four minutes, sit back and absorb the sight and sound of this glorious C-Type tearing up the Tarmac at Monaco (hat tip to Top Gear):
