Have you ever hankered to get behind the wheel of a classic Jaguar? Now is your chance, as the British luxury marque is opening up its most prized models to the public.

The Heritage Driving Experience sees paying customers get the opportunity to drive iconic models such as the Le Mans winning D-Type, and the sleek XJ13, offered to paying customers. For those not wanting the responsibility of piloting a priceless classic racing car, passenger rides are also available.

The driving experience is based at Jaguar's Fen End test facility in Warwickshire and kicks off with a £95 ride alongside a professional racing driver (including, Jaguar says, some famous faces), in an XK150 or Mark II Saloon. £250 will get you behind the wheel of a pair of classic models, or there's the opportunity to sample old and new, with a drive in an E-Type followed by its modern-day successor, the F-Type R Coupe.

If you're feeling flush, you can pay £750 for the 'Le Mans Experience', which includes half a day in the iconic C and D-Types that cemented Jaguar's racing reputation at the 24-hour race in the 1950s, as well as the svelte XJSS and V8 engined F-Type R. Lunch is thrown in, too.

Those looking to get the full-blown yesteryear-motoring nostalgia-fest will want the 'Grace and Pace Experience'. For £2,000 (yes, really), punters will get a whole day's driving in the full smorgasbord of classics, and also gain access to exclusive vehicles from Jaguar's Special Operation Division, the department behind the resurrection of the glorious Lightweight E-Type.

Jaguar Land Rover special operations managing director, John Edwards, said: "This is the first experiential offering from our new division and is the first time in Jaguar's history that we have made a collection of vehicles of this calibre available for 'arrive and drive' experiences.

"It's an extremely exciting new project that underscores the very essence of what Special Operations is all about – celebrating heritage with our eyes firmly on the future."

Jaguar's Heritage Driving Experiences are on sale now.
