If, like many motorway users, you like to travel in excess of the speed limit, you'll no doubt be aware of the blind panic experienced when you suddenly spot a previously unnoticed police car or speed camera van, lurking on an overhead bridge.
For most of us, it's simply a case of easing off the throttle and not drawing attention to oneself. However, if you're just driving too fast, there's little that can be done but curse loudly and await the inevitable thud of a fixed penalty notice on the doormat.
Whatever you do, don't follow the example of these Russian bikers, who were so spooked at seeing a police car – in the opposite carriageway no less – that they caused a comical pile-up by running into one another.
Over reacting to the sight of the police, the lead biker slams on the anchors, leaving little time for his friend behind to react, resulting in a rear-end collision, with the lead biker comically attempting – and failing – to stay on his feet.
Thankfully no one was seriously injured in the collision. It is not known whether the bikers were being targeted by a police speed trap at the time.
