Skoda has released a sketch of the new Fabia supermini which shows off a much sharper look than the current model - taking inspiration from the company's striking VisionC concept car.
The move brings the Fabia in line with the newer models in Skoda's range including the Octavia and Yeti which feature bold, chiseled lines, contrasting with the smoother, more curvy styling of the current Fabia.
Skoda describes the Fabia's new design as "modern and dynamic, with more passion and emotion" than before. The company continues to say, "the first design sketch shows a young, crisp, urban small car with typical Skoda genes and lots of character." It's also the first production car to incorporate design details from the VisionC show car and takes some inspiration from Skoda's motorsport cars too.
The new car features compact, well-balanced proportions, sitting a substantial 9cm wider and 3cm lower than its predecessor for a muscular stance. The car will have a completely new interior as well, which will let buyers customise their car to suit their tastes – as in the Mini and the Fiat 500.
