As any keen driver will tell you, there is a vast difference between a fast car and a driver's car. The very best of the breed are defined not by their performance credentials, but by the intangible idiosyncrasies that allow a driver to (for want of a less cringe-worthy description) 'become one' with the machine.

In this arena 0-60mph times are something of an irrelevance, with the only real measurable facet being the size of the grin a car can put on its pilot's face.
